Uncertainty over Iran’s efforts to revive the 2015 nuclear deal և Iran’s growing poverty following years of US sanctions, Iranian analysts see the vote as a referendum to resolve a series of crises by the leadership.

“Every vote counts … let’s vote, elect your president … it’s possible for the future of your country,” Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said after casting his ballot in the capital, Tehran.
