The 2015/16 Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy ended on January 20, 2016. Just six days later, Hardik Pandya received its first T20I jersey against Australia. Hardick impressed in the series against the Aussies, later representing the nation in the Asian Cup, as well as in the ICC T20 World Cup.
At the end of the 2021 T20 World Cup later this year, Indian fans will expect Pandya to play like Baroda did in the 2015/16 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
