It has been almost six years since Boris John Onson first agreed to write Shakespeare. The genius puzzleFor a minimum payment of 88 88,000, start working on a book that its publisher hoped would bring his “inherent curiosity, truthfulness and skill” to retell the life of Britain’s greatest author.
John Onson, its publisher he said, would decide. “Is Bard really what he broke for?” As the world waits to hear the answer to that pressing question, Downing Street is questioning whether the prime minister has spent time writing his book rather than running the country.
Westminster is outraged by rumors that Dominique Cummings, the former No. 10 chief adviser to Number Onson, a former critic, will address lawmakers Wednesday to claim that the prime minister is working on his Shakespearean biography instead of battling the impending Covid-19 epidemic. ,
A spokesman for John Onson on Monday categorically denied that the prime minister was focusing on the book between January and February 2020, when the crisis intensified. “The prime minister has been at the helm of government response to the epidemic all along,” he said.
However, Downing Street did not deny that John Onson worked on Shakespeare’s biography for which he received it. ,000 88,000 down payment One of its publishers, Hodder and Stoughton UK, became Prime Minister in May 2015 and July 2019.
John Onson’s financial difficulties, including divorce financing, child support, and the Downing Street apartment relocation, are well documented, although his allies said he did not submit any work to the publisher during his tenure.
But the mystery has long surrounded view Onson’s disappearance from public attention for 12 days in February 2020, during which he and his fiancée, Carrie Simmonds, retreated to Chevening, the government’s grateful, friendly home.
For the first two months of 2020, Son Onson did not attend five sessions of the government’s Cobra emergency committee to discuss the coronavirus. Downing Street said that they are chaired by senior ministers, and that this agreement is not unusual.
Britain was also hit by the Great Flood in February, but John Onson did not visit the affected areas. He finally chaired a Cobra meeting on Cobid-19 on March 2, three weeks before the country was blocked.
Shakespeare’s biography was originally scheduled for publication in 2016, coinciding with the 400th anniversary of Bardy’s death. Hodder, the publisher of Winston Churchill’s biography, paid the down payment, retaining the rights of the United Kingdom, while Riverdh planned to publish the book in the United States and McClelland-Stewart in Canada.
Publishers usually make further payments to authors when handwriting or publishing a book. According to some media reports, John Onson’s book is worth around ,000 500,000, a sum that the publishers said was not recognized as the best-selling author by his reputation or record.
When he signed the deal, John Onson, the mayor of London, received the advance just weeks after he was re-elected to parliament in the May 2015 general election. In addition to writing his book, John Onson wrote a column for the Daily Telegraph, for which he was paid around 0 260,000 a year.
But those obligations soon became difficult to overcome. John Onson missed the first deadline for Shakespeare’s biography, which coincided with the 2016 Brexit referendum campaign. He was later forced to withdraw the bill after he was appointed foreign minister by then-Prime Minister Theresa May that same year. Hodder said the book was being postponed “for the foreseeable future” at the time.
After leaving the post of Foreign Minister in 2019, John Onson returned to the Conservative backbone, setting a new date for the unfinished book in April 2020. But it was also postponed after John Onson won the Tory leadership race in July 2019.
Hodder said on Monday. “After the success of Boris John Onson Churchill factor, published in 2014, Hodder & Stoughton signed him to write a book about Shakespeare, which was originally planned to be associated with Shakespeare’s anniversary in 2016.
“When Boris John Onson became Secretary of State, we agreed to postpone publication until a more convenient time, and we did not anticipate that the book would be published in the foreseeable future.”
John Onson’s friends said they would not be surprised if he worked on the book # 10, partly because he needed money, և because he wrote to relax.
In 2009, he defended his Daily Telegraph column while running for mayor of London, saying there was no reason why he “should not knock out an article on Sunday morning as a way to relax.”
In 2019, during the Conservative Leadership campaign, John Onson said that he had already begun to prepare his Shakespearean biography, and suggested that he intend to complete it, though not as quickly as he had hoped.
“That unjustly neglected author will no longer receive the treatment he deserves as quickly as could have happened otherwise,” he added. “It will upset me because, ‘I like to write about him.’
Successive Prime Minister Anthony Sheldon says it would be “fantastic” if John Onson had time to write in issue 10, as this would allow his mind to rise above the level of daily office.
