Probably one of the most popular cities in Texas, Houston is a great city to visit on a weekend getaway. Covered near the Gulf of Mexico, centuries of history և a little refreshing food points, it’s one fun US cities visit for a little rest. Not only that, there is a huge load of the best things that can be done in Houston շուրջ around the outskirts of the city.
All of this makes studying perfect.
Fast forward to now և we still love it.
So to get the most out of your visit to Houston, I wanted to share some of the gems we loved to explore.
Here are some of Houston’s best things to do. Have a great time visiting Texas.
1.) Herman Park
Probably one of the best things to do in Houston if you have a thrilling day, Herman Park is a pleasure to walk around.
Located close to Hoston’s largest museums, Herman Park has many attractions to explore. From the magnificent Japanese garden, the Miller Outdoor Theater to the lovely Herman Park Railway. Do you like to visit?
Also, if you have time, be sure to visit the nearest Natural History Museum և Holocaust Museum. Both are unique places that you should not miss.
Finally, settle for an informal lunch Turkey Leg Hut: (On the road to Almeda). Their crayfish and cheese and turkey legs are everything.
2.) BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir:
Located on the southwestern outskirts of Houston, the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir (Temple) looks absolutely stunning. Not only that, it’s the largest in all of Texas և so well worth a visit.
Every day, everyone is happy to visit and see. Just remember to be respectful չ do not take any pictures inside.
3.) Museum of Fine Arts
Do you still want it for exhibitions and galleries? Then go to the Museum of Fine Arts.
It is home to the largest cultural institution, which houses a collection of approximately 70,000 objects of Latin American art.
Not only that, but the museum also contains European paintings, sculptures of the 20th and 21st centuries, and much more. Believe me, you will not want to miss it.
If that’s not your thing, go to the Kokrel Butterfly Center, which is attached to the Museum of Natural Sciences. It is an ecosystem of huge glass butterflies, which includes thousands of colorful species of butterflies.
To fill your belly, turn to: Breakfast club which is one of the best dinners in all of Texas. They have a delicious menu that is great to miss. Their tangles and tangles are so good.
4.) Buffalo Bayou Park:
Buffalo Bayou Park is a beautiful city park with a number of attractions that are great for a relaxing day in Houston. Including a skateboard park, a playground (for children), a picnic pavilion և a tributary, this is a place that should really just get frostbitten և relax from walking the streets of the city.

Then head to Sawyer Baker: Silos (In Soy Yards).

You see, this is where the state historic site of the Battle of San Asinto is located, which has a museum-monument to visit. After paying a small fee to enter, you will be able to wander around the exhibits to learn more about Texas’s independence from Mexico in 1939.
Plus, you’ll be getting rid of clutter you don’t need. This alone makes it one of the best things to do in Houston.
Return to Midtown, head to Tacos A Go Go with their spicy tacos և quesadillas. Again, this is not a fancy place, but the food is so good.
6.) Houston Children’s Museum
Yes, if you have not already realized, Houston has a pile of museums to explore. և They are all very good.
For a family-friendly pastime, head to the Houston Children’s Museum, which is perfect for children (և for older children as well).
After visiting here, you will see science-technology exhibitions, as well as history-culture-art exhibitions, which make their permanent collections so special.
After spending the morning at the museum, head to Lucille for their delicious southern breakfast. Their chicken and waffle will leave you stuffed.
If you want to stay away from downtown Houston, jump in the car and reach the Galveston coastline.
Complete with beautiful beaches, kitsch amusement park, etc. Pier of pleasure, it is a place where you can spend the whole day.
Frankly, Galveston has a lot of epic to do և studies և perfect for some time away from town
Once here, you can not miss some of the best beaches in Galveston. Some favorites are: East Beach, Stewart Beach, Porretto Beach և San Luis Beach: Just be sure to pack your gloves. The wind can fool you into thinking that blood is not so strong.
Oh Oh, մոռ don’t forget to visit the historic East End of Galveston և The Bishop’s Palace (sometimes known as Gresham Castle), which is fully decorated.
It dates back to the 1800s է so amazing to see.
Also, if you are planning a day trip from downtown, be sure to stop at NASA’s John Onson Space Center. This is an incredible place to learn more about space exploration, even real-world rockets and spacecraft.
8.) Gerald D. Hines Waterwall:
Quite unique և Completely Houston, Gerald D. Hines Waterwall is a place you can not miss. Yes, it is a man-made waterfall, but the power is incredible; it’s actually going to be a fun place near Williams Tower.
If you are warned when the wind changes direction, you can just flood in the rain.
Plus, it’s not too far from Galleria to shop with its huge 400 boutiques before your fall. Not only are there Tech brands, but you will also find international heaps like Burberry, Chanel և Gucci (to name a few).
Then grab a table at Caracol, their “ranch water agave” cocktail և their narrow scales (I think the dish was called Calo de Hacha) are both very good.
9.) Houston Museum of Natural Sciences
Another great place to visit is the Natural History Museum, one of the best places to travel back millions of years in Houston.
You see, inside is a world-famous archeological salon that cannot be missed. Here you can explore dinosaur fossils և numerous galleries, including space station models և mineral specimens.
You will see some of Egypt’s exhibitions, the Museum Butterfly Center (which I mentioned earlier).
If you get a blister after that, move on to Natachee’s Supper ‘n Punch. Not far from the breakfast club I mentioned is a great stop for a reservoir.
